James Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in 1988 by Dr. Daniel J. and Marcia A. Wilhelm in memory of their son, James T. Wilhelm, who was killed in a car accident in July 1987. The 23-year-old was the 1981 Golf Association of Michigan Junior Amateur Champion and was considered one of Port Huron’s outstanding athletes.

Beginning in 2017, this fund transitioned over to our Reverse Scholarship program to attract and retain talent in our area. Prior to 2017, this fund provided 225 academic scholarships totaling more than $144,000 to scholar athletes from area high schools who were pursuing a college degree or other secondary education.
