100 Women and 100 Men
Posted on March 5, 2013
There is a new face to philanthropy these days. Actually, there are hundreds of new faces. You may have heard about the highly successful movement called “100 Women,” and now the men of the Blue Water Area are getting into the game with their own “100 Men.”
The efforts of 100 Women and 100 Men are engaging more local residents in their community through fun and enlightening social events that raise a significant amount of funds in one evening for one local program, project or organization.
But who are the men and women behind the 100 women and 100 men? The women’s group is led by Janal Mossett and Dr. Randa Jundi-Samman. Dr. Jundi-Samman is a trustee of the Community Foundation and has been an active member of the Foundation’s Women’s Initiative. Janal Mossett is an attorney with the local firm of Kelly, Whipple, Zick and Keyes and is the current chair of the Women’s Initiative. The women will hold their 2nd 100 Women event on March 21st at the Port Huron Golf Club.
The Foundation’s Men’s Group is relatively new to the community, but is being led by two experienced leaders. Mike Cansfield is a partner at Michigan Mutual and is a trustee of the Community Foundation. Jeff Thomson, Semco Energy, is currently the board chair of the Blue Water YMCA. Other members of their planning committee for 100 Men include; Dan Damman, Mark Hanton, Rob Patterson, Geof Kusch, Rob Wilson, Duncan Smith and A. J. Armbruster.
The Foundation’s first Men’s Night: 100 Men, will be held April 18th at the Knowlton Ice Museum in Port Huron.
