2014 grants just shy of $2 million
Posted on December 23, 2014
2014 was a tremendous year for many reasons…. too many to list here, but one of those worth mentioning is the nearly $2 million that was used to enhance programs, projects and organizations in the Blue Water Area.
With the year ending soon, our generous donors have stepped up to help many basic needs organizations do what they do best during one of the busiest times of the year. The Blue Water Community Food Depot, Mid City Nutrition, and St. Vincent dePaul received grants this month to help purchase food. The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and Goodwill Industries have also benefited from a couple of year end grants.
Blue Water Safe Horizons was surprised with a $10,000 grant to help them fulfill their mission, while Downriver Helping Hands was the recipient of another $1,000 grant.
While we may be done handing out grants this year, your generosity and support will continue to make a difference for many people in the upcoming weeks, months and years.
