2nd Quarter Grants top $1 million

Posted on May 15, 2015

Although we are not even half way through 2015, the Community Foundation grants have exceeded $1,100,000.

$384,000 has been awarded to support community development efforts. The largest portion of those dollars have benefited the St. Clair Plaza Courtyard.  The grand opening of the courtyard is scheduled for June 18th.

Health and human services organizations have received nearly a quarter of a million dollars so far, including $3,000 to support the Look Good, Feel Better and wig program at McLaren Port Huron.

Other highlights include:

  • $15,000 to RESA to continue the Career Pathways position at Marysville High School
  • $6,600 to continue the International Symphony Association’s Piano Trio Program and $3,000 for the Port Huron Musicale’s Music Lessons Awards
  • Algonac High School ($1,500) and Yale High School ($640) benefited from a couple of YAC grants supporting youth led programs in their communities.
