Committees Un-puzzle the Foundation
Posted on October 8, 2010
Committee members spent a fun evening un-puzzling the Foundation at the All Committee reception hosted by the Women’s Initiative. According to Denise Brooks, event Chair, “The Women’s Initiative wanted to host an event that would showcase all of the great things each committee is doing and make connections with other committee members involved at the Foundation.”
During the “Puzzling Hour” guests visited displays that each committee created to demonstrate their piece of the Foundation puzzle. As an added incentive, everyone had the opportunity to vote for their favorite display. The Tooth Decay Fairy made a guest appearance at the Women’s Initiative’s display and helped them secure top display honors.
To help guests put the pieces of the Foundation together, each committee team gave a “1 Minute Message” about their committee function. Committee creativity was in high gear and included Penny Peck’s Haiku on local Conservation, the Finance/Audit “Money is King” tree, Phyllis Ledyard passing out gold coins from the Grants Committee and Donna Niester taking us down the yellow brick road with the right people on the bus.
The All Committee reception brought together the “doers” to celebrate the amazing work of over 150 Foundation committee members who care about our community and know how to get things done. Thank you to all of our committee members for ALL you do for your community through the Community Foundation.
