Bonnie J. Blomquist

We are very saddened by the loss of a dear friend of the Foundation, Bonnie Blomquist. Bonnie was a charter member of our Women’s Initiative and a gold circle level donor supporting the education, engagement and empowerment of women in philanthropy. She also spent countless hours over the years volunteering for our former backpack program.
Bonnie was very involved in the community. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Michigan State University and was a speech therapist with the Port Huron Area School District. She was past president of the Blue Water Garden Club and Port Huron Jaycettes and a member of the AAUW, Port Huron Town Hall, Port Huron Yacht Club and the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Harlan; two sons, Eric (Melissa) Blomquist and Todd (Caitlin) Blomquist; three granddaughters, Alexandra, Ava and Elizabeth; a brother, Robert (Karen) Groos; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie will be greatly missed and we will forever remember her remarkable and generous spirit.
