Elementary Reading Programs Funded

Posted on July 23, 2008

The Bob Abdoo Memorial Fund and the Education Task Force is working together to help students at Harrison Elementary School succeed in school by learning and developing reading skills.  The grant will be used to purchase classroom technology designed to help teachers demonstrate and improve reading skills for kindergarten, first and second grade students.

This fall at-risk students at Memphis Elementary School will also become better readers.  The program funded by the Education Task Force provides exposure to experiences that develop and build reading skills.  Parent involvement is encouraged and the program will run year round to help kids retain their reading skills throughout the summer.

Earlier this year reading programs were also funded at Cleveland Elementary, East China School District, Sparlingville Elementary, Harrison Elementary, Michigamme Elementary, Lakeport Elementary and Memphis Elementary.
