Foundation opposes Proposal 5

Posted on October 26, 2012

The Community Foundation is joining the Council of Michigan Foundations and the Michigan Nonprofit Association (among others) in opposing Proposal 5 on the November ballot.  Please see the link below for a report from those two groups.

With the local improvements in our economy, economic development and collaboration between the public and private sectors, we would hate to see a change in our State Constitution that would make it harder to continue this road to recovery.

Additionally, many local nonprofits rely significantly on state funding to provide their services, and a change to our constitution could have a negative impact on their work.
