HIS Life Foundation supports Friday Food

Posted on August 23, 2011

On June 11th, HIS Life Foundation, the Port Huron Applebee’s Restaurant, the Stebbins Family Fund, and the Port Huron Red Dawgs 12U baseball team participated in the first annual Hits4Hunger event.  The event raised $6,600 which has been donated to the Community Foundation’s Friday Food for Kids Program at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Port Huron.

“For our first year, we are very pleased with the outcome of being able to provide a backpack full of food every weekend for 66 children at Woodrow Wilson Elementary.  While we are certainly thankful for everyone who supported our efforts we would especially like to thank the children who participated in raising money to help other children who are in need in our community, We are looking forward to expanding our impact next year by getting more children and businesses involved in this worthy cause. ” (John Breidenich, General Manager, Applebees Restaurant)
