JackieThe Community Foundation of St. Clair County has hired Jackie Hanton as its new vice president. She replaces Lynn Griffor who left the Community Foundation to lead the McLaren Port Huron Hospital Foundation.

“We are extremely excited to have Jackie join the Community Foundation,” said Board Chair Donna Niester.  “She is clearly recognized as an emerging leader and is a strong advocate for philanthropy and a spirit of giving back.”

She will start May 25.

Jackie has been a board member of the Community Foundation since 2012 and has become a well-known leader in the region in recent years.

She is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) previously with Talmer Bank and Trust’s Wealth Management division. As a graduate of Michigan State University she began working for Citizens First as an administrator in the trust department, ultimately becoming a Managing Director and Trust Officer. While at the bank, she successfully completed all three levels of trust school through Cannon Financial Institute and earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor certification through the Institute of Certified Bankers. Jackie also completed her law degree at Cooley Law School last year.

In 2013, Jackie was the Blue Water Woman Young Professional of the Year and was also featured in The Times Herald Blue Rising edition. In 2012, she was a City of Port Huron civic award winner. In 2008, she was a Leadership Blue Water graduate as well as a Port Huron Rotary Club Presidential Citation recipient.

Jackie has a passion for the community and currently serves as Vice President of the Blue Water Young Professionals. She also served as Chairwoman of the Board for Safe Horizons for six years.

Niester said Jackie’s role as the Foundation’s vice president will include responsibility for the daily operations of the Community Foundation as well as managing all donor relations and services, community endowment funds, school district endowment funds, the Women’s Initiative and other special projects.

Randy Maiers, president and CEO of the Community Foundation, said, “Jackie brings an incredibly valuable history of client management and services.  Her legal background and trust department history will allow her to help our donors fulfill their charitable and philanthropic goals.”
