New Trustees

At their October board meeting the Trustees of the Community Foundation elected five new members who will each begin three-year terms in January. The five new faces to the Board have a diverse background with the Community Foundation and all are heavily active in community-based programs and projects outside of the Foundation.
Randa Jundi-Samman owns a dental practice and has been active with the Foundation’s Women’s Initiative for several years. She is also active at her children’s schools and is a strong advocate for education and college preparation.
Glen McBride is a CPA from Marine City. He previously served as a trustee of the Foundation and is a current member of the Foundation’s Audit Committee.
Jackie Hanton is a Trust Officer at Talmer Bank in Port Huron and has been an Advisor to the Foundation’s Youth Council for several years. She is also a founding member of the Blue Water Young Professionals.
Rasha Demashkieh is a pharmacist and member of the Foundation’s Education Task Force and also a member of the board for Port Huron Area Schools. She too is a strong advocate for education and community involvement.
Mike Cansfield is a partner at First Preferred Mortgage. He is currently a member of the Foundation’s Finance and Investment Committee and is the vice chair of the Blue Water Land Fund, which is the new entity that owns the River Walk. Mike is also a board member of the Blue Water YMCA.
