New YAC Advisor for 2012

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) will be welcoming a new advisor this year. Keely Baribeau, the Digital Media Technology Instructor at St. Clair Technical Education Center, will be bringing her passion for our community and leadership to YAC this fall.
A graduate of the University of Michigan Screen Arts & Cultures program, Ms. Baribeau began her career in television as an intern at “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” A nearly nine year post as Producer/Writer at the E! Entertainment Television and Style. Networks followed. Her work at the channels included creating pilots and episodes for some of their most notable series.
After graduating from the University of Southern California with a Master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations, Ms. Baribeau was a marketing/PR executive at firms in Los Angeles and Miami. She managed top tourism clients including Big Island Visitors Bureau (Hawaii), Destination Hotels & Resorts and accounts with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in southern Florida and the Caribbean.
Today, her career focus is in education as the Digital Media Technology Instructor at St. Clair Technical Education Center. Curriculum studies include video production, graphic design, photography and audio broadcasting. Ms. Baribeau is a committed advocate for local arts and production opportunities for her students.
