River Walk Trail Campaign Tops $181,000

Posted on August 29, 2012

The public response to the efforts to raise $200,000 for the River Walk Trail has been outstanding. Last week the Foundation announced it has received a conditional commitment from DMOT for $211,000 if the Foundation can rally the community and raise a matching amount of $200,000.  When the announcement was made the Foundation had $147,000 in gifts and pledges.  Within the last few days that total has jumped to over $181,000 spurred by two large gifts from Mr. Chris Kurzweil, along with Drs. Bashar & Randa Samman (pictured).

Recent gifts have come from noted philanthropists like Beth Belanger and Donna Niester, as well as an anonymous gentleman who stopped by the Foundation offices with ten $100 bills for the River Walk.
