Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer

Posted on March 12, 2019

Emily and Steve Goudy decided they wanted to help individuals battling breast cancer after a close family friend was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2010.  They launched the Human Breast Cancer Ribbon event and with funds raised, established their donor advised fund, Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer.

Since opening their fund in 2014, they have raised over $38,000 and awarded grants totaling $30,000!

Their very first $10,000 grant went to McLaren Port Huron Foundation for their Survivorship Fund.

In 2015, they awarded $10,000 to Lake Huron Foundations’ Pink Ribbon Fund …

...and most recently $10,000 to Ascension River District Hospital for their Breast Cancer Service Patient Fund.

Emily and Steve continue to fundraise and engage our community through their events. They are extremely thankful for the support and look forward to continue helping individuals as they fight their battle with breast cancer.

Check out the Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer website for more details and their upcoming Badges and Bras event on April 4th.
